So our next step was to connect with other designers. We met Annabel Perrin at a lovely show which is held in Chelsea Town Hall on the Kings Rd, Hand Made in Britain.
Annabel had at that time just completed her Masters and was very interested in the process of collaboration. Annabel is based in Manchester and now sells her own surface pattern designs from her website. She believes neutral rooms can be transformed by using standout, statement accessories and this is what she aims to deliver with her eclectic range of mid-century modern homeware and textiles.
We began working together by sharing inspirational imagery via Pinterest. Annabel then went and drew from life, imagery which she found inspirational and knew could be developed into the style we were looking for. When the designs had been created Annabel sent them for us to look at, this is always exciting but even more so knowing they would be part of our first collection.
The process of collaboration continued and we tweaked the designs until they were perfect, it didn't take long as Annabel is a great designer and very professional. The final stage was the colouring of the collection. A palette for the whole collecction was developed to link all the designs. The scale of each design was carefully considered in relation to the products, this has to be just right as any designer knows.
Finally the designs were ready and we love the results... We hope you do too.
